Product Details

The Queen Victoria 1891 Crown has a diameter of 38.61mm and is made of .925 sterling silver. It weighs approximately 28.28 grams. On the obverse side of the coin, an effigy of Queen Victoria is depicted facing left. This portrait was created by Joseph Edgar Boehm and is commonly referred to as the "Jubilee Head" because it was introduced in 1887 to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

Queen Victoria is shown wearing a small crown, and the inscription "VICTORIA DEI GRATIA" can be seen around the edge, which translates to "Victoria, by the grace of God." The reverse side of the coin features.  The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci's magnificent design of St. George on horseback slaying the dragon, first used on gold sovereigns of George III in 1817. The initials B.P. appear in the exergue to the right of the date.

"1891" is inscribed at the bottom of the reverse side. The outer rim of the coin typically has decorative patterns, including floral elements and small shields representing the constituent countries of the United Kingdom.
